Hello. So Snoogy and myself decided to update the older Duel Masters plugin I found on this forum. Below is a link to the plugin which you can copy and paste in the Install or Update from URL box and away you go.

Below are the basic rules for the game for anyone interested.

Duel Masters is actually a really easy game to learn (especially if you?ve played Magic). It can be played with as many players as you want.

?   A single deck consists of 40 to 60 cards. You can only have 4 copies of a single card in your deck.
?   At the start of the game, shuffle your deck.
?   Both players put the top 5 cards of your Deck into the Shield Zone. You do not look at these cards.
?   Both players draw 5 cards.

?   There are 2 types of cards in the game. Creatures and Spells.
?   Creatures are the only way to attack your opponent and when they are played they stay on the field until they are destroyed. Spells on the other hand are played and then immediately sent to the Graveyard (Discard Pile).
?   Each Creature and Spell belongs to one or more Civilization represented by the cards color.
?   Red = Fire. Green = Nature. Blue = Water. Black = Darkness. Yellow = Light.

?   You win the game by using your Creatures to destroy all 5 of your opponent?s shields and then attack your opponent directly to win the game.

?   At the start of your turn, you will want to play a card in your Mana Zone. Mana is the only way you can summon a Creature or cast a Spell. Any card can be played in your Mana Zone, it doesn't matter if it's a Creature or a Spell.
?   You can only play 1 card in your Mana Zone per turn.
?   You will notice a number on the top left corner of each card. This is that cards Mana Cost.
?   To play a card you must have at least enough mana in your Mana Zone that equals the Mana Cost of the card you want to play. You must use at least 1 card in your Mana Zone that is the same Civilization as the card you want to play.
?   When you use a card in your Mana Zone to play a card, you must tap it (turn it to its side) and that means that card cannot be used again until your next turn. At the start of your turn you untap all of the cards in your Mana Zone.
?   You cannot summon a Creature or cast a Spell during your opponent?s turn.
?   Example: You have 4 Water cards and 2 Darkness cards in your Mana Zone. You want to summon a Darkness Creature with a cost of 4. You will need to tap at least 1 of those Darkness cards and 3 other cards in your Mana Zone to summon the Creature.

?   At the start of your turn, you draw 1 card from the top of your deck.

?   When you play a Creature in the Battle Zone, it gets Summoning Sickness and it cannot be Tapped. Spells do not get Summoning Sickness.
?   The turn after a Creature has been summoned, it can Attack.
?   A Creature can attack either another Creature in your opponent?s Battle Zone, or one of your opponent?s Shields (you can attack a shield even if there are Creatures in your opponents Battle Zone).
?   However, a Creature can only attack another Creature if the target of the attack is Tapped. If the Creature isn?t Tapped, it cannot be targeted for an attack.
?   When a Creature attacks it is Tapped and cannot be used again. At the start of your next turn all of your Creatures are Untapped.
?   Some Creatures have a special ability that only activates if they Tap themselves. When you activate this effect, they cannot attack.
?   After you attack with a Creature, you cannot play any other cards for the rest of the turn.

?   Some cards have a special ability called Blocker. You can tell if a Creature is a Blocker, if they have a symbol in their card effect that?s a little blue dot inside of a black box.
?   When a Creature attacks, and you have a Blocker that isn?t Tapped, you can tap it and the Creature that attacked now must attack the Blocker. The two cards then battle normally.

?   Some Creatures are also called Evolution Creatures. To play an Evolution Creature, you must play the card on top of another Creature with the same Race that is described in the Evolution Creatures card effect.
?   The Creature under the Evolution Creature cannot attack or use its effect.
?   When an Evolution Creature is moved from the Battle Zone, you separate the two Creatures.
?   Evolution Creatures don?t get Summoning Sickness and can attack on the turn they are summoned.

?   When a Shield is broken, the Shield is placed into its owners hand.
?   If the Shield that is broken has an effect called Shield Trigger, you can play that card immediately from your hand as soon as it is placed there without paying the cost.
?   If you don?t play the Shield Trigger as soon as the Shield is destroyed, you cannot play until your turn and you must pay the cost.

?   Cross Gears are a new type of card. You can tell if a card is a Cross Gear if it has a boarder around the picture that looks like a Pentagon.
?   Think of Cross Gears like Spells that never leave the Battle Zone when they are played.
?   Cross Gears are like weapons. You can ?Cross? them with a Creature to give that Creature a special effect or a boost of power.
?   You can Cross a Cross Gear with a Creature by paying the Mana Cost of the Cross Gear once again after it has been played.
?   A Cross Gear can only be Crossed with 1 Creature. But you can Uncross the Cross Gear and Cross it with another Creature by paying the Mana Cost again.

Sorry everyone, the new set is going to take a while. There are almost double the cards in this set than in normal sets. It will be worth the wait though because Cross Gears are introduced!

For those that don't know, Cross Gears are like weapons that you "cross" with a creature. To play a cross gear you pay the cost like a creature or spell. However Cross Gears stay on the field unlike spells but they cannot attack like creatures. You can "cross" or equip it to a creature by paying the cards cost again. The crossed creature gains bonuses specified by the cross gear card. When the crossed creature is destroyed the cross gear stays on the field. Cross Gears cannot be destroyed unless by specific effects. You can pay the cross gears cost again when it is crossed with a creature to switch the crossed creature to another one on your field. When a crossed creature is evolved the cross gear stays on the evolution creature. When the evolution creature splits up, it is crossed to the creature it was originally crossed with. And that's all you need to know about Cross Gears!

Alright I'm halfway done! And because of that I thought I would reveal another new ability in this set. There are a lot of new powers in the new set. This time I'll explain Metamorph.

Metamorph is an ability creatures and spells can possess. Basically, the card gets an extra ability if there are 7 or more cards in your mana zone. Pretty simple, but there are some pretty good metamorph abilities out there. Though getting up to 7 mana is the difficult part.

Good news and even more good news people! The first good news is I'm almost done with the newest set. I just need to resize the card images. The second good news is that I have found a little cheat that will make this a much faster process. Yay!

Now then, I'll also reveal a new power that is introduced in this set again. Savers. Basically think of savers like blockers. If a certain card is about to be destroyed you can destroy the saver instead. Most of the cards that can be saved are race specific. So a fire saver can usually only save Armored Dragons. These can be very useful if you are running certain decks.

Be patient, the set will be uploaded soon.

Some creatures now have minus power. For example a creature with 3000- power. He loses power if certain cards are on the battle field. If a creature has 0 power they are destroyed.

Can you tell me a little bit about this game? I looked it up on Wikipedia and saw it was a 2 or 4 player game - could you also play it with 6? Is it difficult to learn (my group knows how to play Magic the Gathering).

Also, thank you aaero for your comment, I hope this helped you :) Look to the above posts for information on Cross Gear cards. PLEASE tell me if it doesn't make sense and I will try to make it clearer!

UPDATE: I forgot this part.

When a shield is destroyed the owner of the shield adds that card to their hand. If the card has an ability called Shield Trigger, that player can play the card without paying the mana cost of the card, but only after the shield is broken and not after they add it to their hand.

Trevor will probably be able to help you, I don't know much about it - but here is an example of the file you need to create.

It looks like it's a tab delineated file with install location, remote location, and file size. You could make this really easily in excel if you wanted to get a head start.

Just a quick update, I'm working on the autoupdate thing. It's slow going though and we will see how long it takes me. I could still use that help though but I think I have the basics down for the most part. It's all about being patient at this point. But don't worry I'll still do the manual updates until I can get this completed.

I thought since this is the end of the first OCG Set Block (think of a Set Block as a Volume in Yu-Gi-Oh), I would partially reveal a super secret project I'm working on. It's an original CCG and I'm pretty proud of how it's turning out. I can't reveal all the details but I'm going to continue working on that for a while so stay tooned for that.

I'll see if I can get an Angelfire site for you to host the files and the update list.

EDIT 1: If you have a website where you got the card images that would be handy for the card image URLs.

EDIT 2: One problem is that the updatelist.txt requires that files and folders don't have spaces, as that kills the syntax which separates parameters with spaces.  I think all the images are going to be renamed to space-less names or just numbers.

EDIT 3: It's all ready for automatic updating, just there are no card image URLs and it'll take a little while to manually input all the URLs.  Also the excel sheets need to be adjusted so all set names have dashes(or something) instead of a spaces, for example Eternal Phoenix must become Eternal-Phoenix, and the card images should be changed to either card numbers or dashes for spaces again, for example Balforce, the Demonic Holy Spirit's image becomes "1", which is it's number in the set Eternal-Phoenix.

EDIT 4: Also before I hit the hay I wanna mention that I'm using the Duel Masters wiki for card images, it looks like you were too but I want to say that you can take the card's URL-

I have never used google to store image files before, but I do believe that the webhosting that I am using for the plugin has enough space(it has 10gb of space) and bandwidth(it has 100gb of monthly bandwidth, and since your sets current combined total size including images is about 120mb, we can have over 800 complete downloads a month) to store all the images, it could be set as a backup source in the case that the Wiki has problems.

Additionally, before I start making the CardImageURLs files and/or the webhosted image database I should ask what the names of the images will be in the sets.  Using the card number in the set is a good option, it's also what Magic's plugin does, but it may be easier to just use a replace function on the excel sheet.  I'll wait until you decide which one to do and I'll follow suit.

Also I've sent you a PM including the webhosting's location, login password, login email, yatta yatta because I never know when I'll be unable to update it or randomly hit by a car and put in to a coma. ;P

The Wiki also contains the japanese and english version of the first few sets, so I guess a "Japanese" quality setting could be added, since the japanese scans are of higher quality but obviously not readable.

Alright I finished taking out the spaces in all the card image files and the other files. Yay for me! I will go take a look at the site and I'll put a back on up the google site I made since it already and it doesn't take long and why the hell not.

I've been trying to find some higher res images of some of the english sets with very little luck so yes I might need to get all the japanese images if we really want clear pictures. Does anyone using this plugin have any opinion? I can do it, no problem but it will take a bit of time.

Did you only remove the spaces or did you replace them with dashes?  And could you upload the sets so I can put their checksums in to the updatelist.txt as well as start building the CardImageURLs file?

No, it's all good, I just wanted to know what you did.  I'll start building the Base Set's CardImageURLs file today.

EDIT: We can have both the Japanese images and the lower quality English images in the set, although I think I'm going to start with the English images just to catch up to where we were to begin with.

EDIT2: Actually I think having numbers for image names might help since typing each of their names in to the CardImageURLs is... well let's just say I'm not exactly the least lazy guy around.

EDIT3: Thanks to a bit of batch downloading I'm getting all the card images for uploading to the webhost, unfortunately though they are going to be named things like Dm32-s1.jpg as that's what they are called on the wiki, I don't know how if your set files include the card numbers for all the cards but if it doesn't I'll gladly manually change card image names to the card numbers, it's definitely not as hard as typing Baloros-Uber-Dragon-of-Epic-Time-Manipulation-and-Stuff or similarly named monsters 60 times each set.

I have Excel, I just need the spreadsheets and an hour of cross-referencing sets to the sheets.

Well the problem with updating an older plugin is that the older sets don't have excel spreadsheets. The image files aren't numbers unfortunately. I can do most of that if it will be easier? Though I don't see why you are getting the numbers when, every time I download the images I will get the cards name.

Well anywho, it'll be a lot easier to make new sets if you don't need to rename the images all the time.  Instead only having to put the card's number in to the card image name field in the spreadsheet.

EDIT1: I've downloaded all the card images except the reprints and in highest resolution..  All properly named after the card's set and number and in full size, now I just hope I can upload 500mb of images to some filehosting site in a batch and without breaking said filehosting site.

EDIT2: Autopilot, as in you've been manually renaming images and stuff like that!?  Well I guess it's only 60 cards per set, but that's still quite a bit when you start multiplying it by the number of sets you've done.

EDIT3: I've started uploading the images to the filehosting site.  Could you send me a few spreadsheets to update with the card images?  We, or rather I, are going to need to remake copy/paste the Base-Set spreadsheet to support the updatelist.txt.

EDIT4: You can just copy and paste the sets in to Excel and it automatically formats it correctly, amazing, I didn't know I could do that.  I'm now beginning work on converting it.

I think we should coordinate what we are doing.  I will work on Beginner's Block and Fighting Spirit Saga block:

All I'm doing is telling them their sets have dashes instead of spaces and renaming the imagefile names to Dm1-1 or what ever according to what the image's name is in the wikia, shouldn't take me terribly long.  It might be too much to ask but could you do the same for the Holy Fist Saga block and Reincarnation Saga block?

Also, whenever you make a new set you probably will want to follow this standard too so that we don't need to go back and fix it, also I'm uploading the images in groups of 30 (the maximum I can upload at one time) with the names in the same Dm1-1 format.

Once we reach a good point, like catching up to where you got, I'll update the checksums and it'll be ready to automatically update and download via LackeyCCG.

Yes I will work on those blocks as soon as possible! It will be easy for the Reincarnation Set because I have the excel files for that. Though you might want to check the files, Lackey seems to have some weird reaction to dashes.

Yes it is annoying. Also, the dash doesn't show up on the card text in Lackey so I don't know how it will react to the card images and set.

It works fine in the set names and images names of cards, I've already done a test, and so have you with "The Over-Technocross".

Also the sets have some inconsistencies between the English (TCG) and Japanese (OCG) versions.  For example; Gran Gure, Space Guardian is card number 1 in the Japanese version while it's card number 5 in the English version, and some cards are replaced entirely, such as Brain Serum which is exclusively in the English version of the Base Set and it doesn't show up until the 18th set in the Japanese version.

The original plugin uses the English contents, but the Japanese set names (no "Evo-Crushinators of Doom" here, just "Master of Evolution").

I already have all the images with names like Dm1-1, you don't need to change the images you have, just the imagefile names in the sets.  I'm trying to use Excel to sort these sets by card number, and it's starting to work, but isn't completely working yet.

I just sort everything first and then in the imagefile column I put in Dm10-1 and then drag it down and it does all the numbering for me.

I did it...I DID IT! Okay simple, get the list of all the cards in the set off of the wiki, go to word and get rid of all the numbers with replace. Past the list of cards into excel and put their card numbers next to them. Then sort the cards in alphabetical order and just paste the rest of the card information and there you go! I win! I am the laziest ev ah screw it.

Also a lot of these sets are...confused. Many of them are named with set names that don't exist.

I managed to sort the cards by cardnumber.  Here's how I did it:

First I went to http://duelmasters.wikia.com/wiki/DM-01_Base_Set_%28OCG%29 (the set I'm working on) and I copied all the contents and pasted it in to a spreadsheet, then I Replaced (without quotes) "*10 " (may have to be "*5 " for sixty card sets) with nothingness and the commas with periods (they mess up the sorting), then I pressed the Office button in the corner (I have Excel 2007 so your version may be different) and went to "Excel Options" and then clicked "Edit Custom Lists..." and added the whole column of names to a list (with the Import button, the Add button cuts off the list), then went back to my set and replaced the commas in the names with periods and finally sorted the names by the custom list.  Voila!

Now you can replace the periods back to commas.

EDIT1: Got ninja'd...  Oh well, time to hit the hay.

Wow, you work really fast!

But no, it's alright, I'm done the Base Set and I'm going to start picking up the speed.

Could you upload your finished sets to the filehosting site in the sets folder?

EDIT1: Hmm, the guy who made the first sets of the plugin kept switching between OCG and TCG sets, and even having sets contain cards that aren't in either the OCG or TCG sets.  Also, the Master of Destruction set is swapped with Eternal Wave for some reason.  Eternal Wave was in your block so you may want to double check that one...

EDIT2: Eternal Wave set in the plugin had exactly the cards of Master of Destruction on the wiki except for "Streaming Shaper", which instead was "Psychic Shaper", exactly the same card except the cost is 6 rather than 3.  It's almost as if the guy was trying to rebalance the sets.

EDIT3: Base-Set, Master-of-Evolution, and Master-of-Destruction are complete.  Getting breakfast now.

EDIT2: I don't know what he was doing but I have found a couple other mistakes in the original plugin. He wrote it so one card wasn't able to attack, and it was a speed attacker.

EDIT4: I uploaded the excel sheets because my version does a weird thing when it converts to a wordpad.

Either or, it doesn't really matter since I can use them which ever way you do it.

Oh, great, so I need to double check everyone of the cards in my sets too.

Also, Eternal Vortex is named External Vortex in your sets.

I'll look through my sets for cards that need to be fixed, but right now I'm uploading the images because I forgot to while I was making the original sets use the correct imagefiles.

EDIT1: Do you have MSN, Skype or Facebook?  I think that would make it easier to communicate real-time.

EDIT3: Yes I realize I named it Duelmonsters instead of Duelmasters accidentally, nothing can be done about that now.

EDIT4: Oh snap, I think Lackey is adding spaces between the dashes when it goes to retrieve the image files...  Time to do a test and fix this.

EDIT5: Never mind, I was just using CardGeneralURLs incorrectly, it's all fixed now.

Well that was close. Glad it worked out. Also awesome cardimages. They look so much better than the old ones.

Also I wanted to thank the original creator of the plugin Nuts4Wolves91. Without all your hard work Snoogy and I probably wouldn't be doing this. Thank you! Now, back to work, whatever that is.

Thanks in no small part to the help of Snoogy, the Plugin now has 2 new OCG sets The Ultimate Nova & History of Devil Nova. We, meaning Snoogy, have resized the images to make them smaller and more managable. Go and update your plugins now! I will be talking about some of the cards to expect in these sets late on the Duel Masters Discussion Forum, link on the front page. Enoy guys!

wow you guys are amazing! I've been wanting to play DM outside of TCO and this is just amazing, to bad I cant play my Bolmeteus Kensei build (yet). but still congratulations and hope you guys keep it up!

Also, i'd willingly help at least finding the images and their english effects (sadly I dont know a thing about coding and that stuff)

BTW... is it possible to view the card's effect/text somewhere while playing/building my deck?

Yes, it is possible, there is a "Text: [ ]" button that toggles the card's information, it is then displayed over the card image.
