Lackey shouldn't crash in any case. Lackey should convert smart quotes (both single and double) to regular quotes.

I fixed this but I haven't posted it. I'm working on some other stuff so I'm not sure when the fix will go live.

One thing you could do is enable the mode where all players sit on the same side of the table.

Looks like a bug. I'll fix it when I can.

If you can't connect to the website, its an issue with your network. I didn't ban or block you, so you'll have to figure out what your network issue is. Maybe contact your ISP or google the specifics of your setup.

What are you doing when it crashes ? Is it the same thing every time? Most importantly, can you figure out a way to reliably cause it to crash? If you can, and I can also replicate it, I can certainly fix it.

Those plugins have case-sensitive errors.

Cardback.jpg should be "cardback.jpg".

But as an iPad user, there is nothing I can do, correct?  Couldn't the app just make them be the same instead of differentiating between upper and lower case?  I assume this works fine on a Windows desktop since Windows does not consider Rage and rage as 2 different strings?
Some operating systems are case sensitive. It's a mistake with the plugin and not a bug with lackey. The iPad (in general, not just with lackey) doesn't let you (easily at least) mess around with the files and folders. You could fix it manually on the desktop version, but the real problem is it's a mistake with the plugin. I could force it to be case insensitive, but that might introduce issues with other plugins that depended on the case differentiation. I'm working on a new version of lackey with many fixes and improvements and I'll consider this as a possible change.

There is a problem with that plugin, but you're right that it should be able to be deleted with the button. I will fix that.

I am loading the Rage plugin
http://www.werepenguin.com/rage/lackey/high/updatelist.txt

It downloads the files.  However, when I browse to select a plugin to load I have two entries:
Rage (uppercase R)
rage (lowercase r)

Selecting the Rage one, I am not allowed to choose it but the rage one allows me to choose it.  However, selecting it causes nothing to load and if I had a plugin already loaded, it seems to be unloaded as there i can no,longer choose the Game or Deck Editor tabs.

The same happens with Smash Up
http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/250886096/lackeyccg/SmashUp/updatelist.txt

Except it is SmashUp and Smashup.

Any ideas if this is plugin related or iPad bugs???
the plugin defines the name of the plugin as "Rage" but it lists folders named "rage" which is a mistake with the plugin. Capital or not is fine as long as you are consistent. ISO suggest lowercase though. The broken plugin wouldn't load, but I didn't experience a crash.

The same mistake is in the smash up plugin. It needs to be consistently named or it won't work.

I will definitely investigate this. What autoupdate URL did you use to install the plugin? Is this crash only on iPad or desktop as well?

Emulators don't work well for developing things like an interface. You don't know if a button is going to be a nice size or in the right place unless you are holding the device.

Dear all,

thanks for the effort in the lackeyccg.
I've bought the Ipad version and I really enjoy it.

However I would like to post a small suggestion/bug.
Well.. in the magic plugin is clear evident the possibility to open a .dek from a folder and to export as txt as well.
I would really appreciate if this possibility would be still available. I know that browsing in the Ipad folders is impossible, but maybe a sharing option through emails or dropbox or google drive will save time to redo decks every time changing from one platform to an other.

Thanks in advance for your support.

best regards

Calligula
Hi Calligula. I'm glad you enjoy the iPad version of LackeyCCG. (Please post a review on the app store if you have a chance.)
I would like to integrate more sharing integration, but there is some existing sharing features I think would suit your needs really well.

You can use the import and export buttons in the deck editor. Consider this example. I have some star wars decks I put in an online directory (http://lackeyccg.com/starwars/decks/). Let's say I'm on a friend's computer and I want to load the LSRidem.txt deck. I could do this 2 ways. I could copy the URL (http://lackeyccg.com/starwars/decks/LSRidem.txt) to my clipboard, and hit the "Paste" button in the deck editor, or I could open the link in my web browser and copy the deck contents to my clipboard and then hit the "Paste" button in the deck editor. The latter method works if you copy the deck list from anywhere, such as an email, a forum post, an IM, or anything.

And similarly, if you want to export, hit the "Copy" button in the deck editor, then paste the contents to wherever you want to save it.

I regularly play a few different games on the iPad and I think the iPad is a pretty good way to play. I would imagine it can vary from plugin to plugin, but it works well for the games I play at least. I like some things better on the iPad (like pinch-zooming and I regularly rotate between portrait and landscape), and some things I prefer on the desktop, but I like playing on both. I think it more comes down to how you feel like playing. If I want to play a game while browsing the web, checking email, or dickering around on the computer, I'd use the desktop version. If I want to relax on the couch, or when I take my iPad out of the home, I prefer the iPad version. It's similar arguments for the iPad VS desktop computer in general. Before I had an iPad, I didn't see a need for a tablet computer since I could do all that stuff on a desktop. But once you get an iPad, if you're like me, you realize there's a lot of comfort to using it since it's so portable.

I'm not sure about a free demo version. I think that might confuse people and complicate things.

It's only a couple bucks, and it's the only way I'm making any money from all the time I've put into Lackey over the many years. So if you've enjoyed the desktop version at all, buying the iPad version would be a nice (and appreciated) way to support me.

If you like Lackey on iPad, please post a positive review. If you don't like it, or have a criticism (or bug report), please report them on my forum first so I have a chance to fix them. If people post an unfavorable review it can tank app sales, even long after I fixed the issue the person was complaining about. I love constructive criticism and many changes have been done because of it but its most useful on my forum.
