Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but here it goes.

Anytime I try to paste a plugin into the autoupdate box thing I get an error message that says:

WARNING: It appears that the plugin autoupdate URL you entered is not valid. It should be a URL ending in "updatelist.txt".

I can assure you that it does indeed end in updatelist.txt because I am pulling them from this site and I get the same result regardless of which one I try. Please help!   :-[

Have you tried running the Lackey updater? Some plugins require the newest version of Lackey to be able to download the plugin or load the plugin from a folder. I had the same problem w/ the MTG plugin, and had to run the updater.

Just did the updater and I still get the same message  :-\

But I get the same message no matter what the plugin is that I try to paste.

Maybe your clipboard has some weird rich text formatting. Try pasting it to a plain text file, and then copy from the plain text file. That should remove any weird invisible characters if that's the issue. Also, make sure you don't have some leading or trailing white space, such as a tab or space.

Still can't get it to work. I don't know what the deal is. I have even tried removing the program and redownloading it.

Trevor

have you tried typing it? Maybe something weird is going on with your copy/paste.

I figured instead of creating a new thread I'd just add to this one as I've done everything suggested,
and even tried remaking the whole updatelist.txt and nothing seems to work.

At first I thought it might be that I'm using dropbox, but all tests I can do came up inconclusive, so I'm at a dead end.
Here's the link to my update.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

P.S. Here's the whole plugin if that's needed for any reason.

that is not a URL to a direct link to a file. It is a link to page that displays the file, as well as a download button and other stuff besides the file. I haven't used Dropbox.com for plugins, so maybe someone else knows for sure, but I think lackey needs a direct link to the file. Take a look at other working auto update urls when you open them in a browser. They are just the contents of the file.
