Basic Info:
Monster Collection or MON-COLL is a turn base strategy card game where you send parties of units against other parties on a 4x3 grid, while trying to take over your opponents headquarters. It is a very unique game and I have yet to find any games like it. Unfortunately it was only released in Japan and not too many people know about it outside of Japan.

Recently I found a few theme decks and the Comprehensive Rules to the game translated to English.

Info about the plugin so far:
Beta version 1: I have created a beta version of the plugin with only one theme deck. I am going to try to get at least two more theme decks done within the next two days. As well as a play mat to make it a bit easier to understand where the cards go.

Beta Version 1.2: So far I have 3 theme decks in the plugin, both theme decks from block 1 (1A&1B) as well as the first TD from the second block (2A). Very minor changes to the plugin itself. I translated the second TD of the first block myself (there were no translations on the wiki for it), so let me know if I got anything horribly wrong.

By the end of this week I hope to translate and add the first booster from block 1, I will even go a step further if I can fit in some time for the second booster within the first block as well.
I also plan to make some more changes to the plugin to make it a bit more convenient. Once I get all this done I will start translating the promos for the first block, and hopefully create an update list for the plugin.

Beta Version 1.3: all of the first block with the exception of the promotional cards are included.

Beta Version 1.4: all of block one is now translated, though there might be a few typos. If anyone sees an issue with any of the cards feel free to message me or leave a post here and I will see what I can do. Also, I still need more translators and someone who has played the game before to make a tutorial video with me. I am currently working on an update list, please stand by for that.

[special thanks to snoogy, for sending me his modified version of the play mat and teaching me a couple tricks on lackey, as well as introducing some new ideas, and providing me with some translations from his work]

Here is the more current play mat until I come up with a way to add the battle zone

HELP!
Please try the plugin and send me any thoughts on how to improve the plugin via messaging me here . Also, I could use help on some of the translations, updating the plugin, and adding cards. So if any of you want to help in any way please feel free to message me.

Clarification:
there are 4 rows vertically and 3 rows horizontally the battle field is separate from the main play area. You move your cards to the battle area and then move units back to the playing field after the battle if they survive.
Both Headquarters are located on the middle slot closest to each player.

Also the theme deck contains 53 cards and you are only allowed to have 50 in a deck, so just remove 3 cards you don't want and save it.

Oh, and one last thing. If you don't want to have the description blocking the card art, you can always use the ~ button below the escape key when you mouse over stuff.

Hi!

I was actually working on a MonColle plugin a while back.  I never finished it, but it's more complete than your version, why not expand upon it instead:  http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=09244745881994684658  ?

My plugin covers sets (1A) Fire Dragon, (1B) Sword Princess, (1C) Allflame of the Phoenix, (1D) Celestial Fallen Angel and (4B) Phantom Fox.  There is a playmat (with black borders to suit widescreen displays), automatic CardImageURLs, and stylized card text.

Also maybe visit the unofficial, english MonColle wikia here:  http://moncolle.wikia.com/wiki/Monster_Collection_TCG_Wiki

Thank your for the link but I think I am still going to use mine. Your plugininfo.txt file is a missing some code etiquette is a bit unorganized for my taste, and your carddata.txt has all the theme decks jumbled into one which would make it a pain to update. I keep multiple card data documents for each set and all the image information is very specific, and extremely organized, so that anyone can jump right into it. I also keep the excel files to make things easier for anyone in need of updating the card set. It is as simple as copy, paste, and go. Also the plugin seems to be missing the images within the sets folder, and the plugin includes an image folder with images of cats for some reason O_O.

On the other hand the play mat was done pretty decently and the spawn card thing could be used for a battle zone that I can use to attach to the side of the play mat. Unless I can figure something else out. Also reading your card data file has given me an idea to clarify the effects.

Oh and I also use very specific card images, the card images on the wiki are not in correlation to the card id# and are in fact incorrect, where as the official site contains the accurate picture as you will see if you run my plugin.

Understandable ;)

I could send you my excel file, if you so desire.

The images are downloaded dynamically, I'm guessing you didn't actually run my plugin?  :P  The cats are default turn-phase images.

The play mat is just one I grabbed off the official website, which I added some black borders to to fix the aspect ratio for widescreen users (such as myself).  I took a bit of creative liberty with the card text to - generally - make it easier to understand.

I don't know about the wiki, but my card images are being grabbed directly from the official website (they make it so easy) so they should be correct.

Also, you can make the plugin smaller and easier to download if you don't include the card images, since they can be downloaded from the official website.  A quick inspection of my plugin will reveal how.

cool man, thx. Could you send me a link to the excel sheets? Oh and for everyone else who is interested I am currently in the midst of translating the 2nd theme deck within the first block, and have finished the fist theme deck in the second block.

AuraDragon

Sure!  http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=99418983544591049457

There are multiple tabs;  the first being a Readme, which explains stuff about the spreadsheets;  the second being the Japanese card data I collected from the official website;  the third being my translations, I used replace-all a lot for common, reusable phrases;  the last one is a bunch of Excel codes to organize the translated data into a nice data file for Lackey.

I love this game but I don't really see anyone playing it. I was going to translate a few other Blocks but it seems like not too many people are interested. If i can get at least 10 people that want to play with more cards then I will go ahead and translate the next Block in the series.

Apparently they finished mon-coll with about 9 different sets. I will no longer be translating it for the time being, as stated earlier. However, I will be creating a plugin for a new card game called Dreadnought by the same creators of Mon-Coll that was recently released. So stand by for that.

Edit: It is done, it is called Dreadnought. Enjoy!
