Ik. Should I even attempt to create a game on one of the greatest scifi film stories... Well I say I should... Anyone wanna help..?

Well its been tried at least 3 times before unsuccessfully, so why not.
Which "story" would you be basing it on, the more character-centric one or the more universe-centric?

but another game based on the 6 movies would be great. it is never to late to find another take on the game, maybe more political, or more to do with planets? find the Force?

Are you referring to fan made ones because there where a total of 5 card games based on star wars and Star wars CCG(decipher) and Star Wars TCG(Wotc) were successful and it's player committees still produce fan sets for them.

as for another one based on the movies... I'd like to see no light or dark side restraints, meaning on player has to be light and the other dark. I've thought about this a bit but not too much about the mechanics on how I'd handle it.

I was just mentioning off the top of my head thinking of the decipher game, the wotc game, and "young jedi"
but there's a billion things based on star wars property so it doesn't really matter.

I was thinking of doing nearly the opposite of making a new star wars game... adapting the OLD star wars game's rules (at least as far as combat, force drain, and the ways cards are worded and tend to work together) to a fantasy setting and adding a diplomacy/political espionage sort of twist to it. I think it'd be cool cuz the "sites" would be grouped by their fictional continents, and you'd need to travel the seas to get to other continents. Could be cool, I'll keep you posted :D

But I'd be down to talk rules stuff about a new stars wars game as well, any ideas floating around?

If you're going to adapt the old star wars rules then why not just take the WARS rules which was decipher's "cleaned" up version of the Star Wars CCG rules. Not a bad system. I just found the whole movement thing to be a waste since there was SO many restrictions and it never seemed to come into play all that much, atleast from the games I've played of it though.

Because regardless of how much I tried to just straight up steal it I know I would do my own share of cleaning up and complete changing of some rules. Plus I never played WARS for whatever reason

well think of what you liked, and what you didn't like. You said something about being political so why not try to have some sort of diplomacy mechanic where instead of attacking, characters can use influence to gain power or to sway away troops. And if You're interested. I think I have the wars rule book so you can take a look at it. From what I heard everything is pretty much the same it just now has factions in it, which is an improvement over "light vs Dark" imho

well my game this is pretty close to public beta testing phases is based a lot on star wars, but pulls from some other games too, along with some new mechanics and ideas. Right now it is mostly combat based but I plan on adding things in future expansions like Sea locations and Diplomacy. I'm not quite sure why I said I was thinking of doing this so much as I am in the process of doing this already, I just haven't quite finished up some loose ends yet.

ans to 1st question- Universal... try to get as much star wars or (tar wars based)(fan made) characters in a game as possible meanining everything star wars fits. so even though darth revan may have never been made into a card before..... hes more than compatible. also those of you who are familiar with the books... scenarios from there also are more than compatible..
as to gameplay i have many ideas  that could fit a star wars game. also i was thinking more than just planets or locations could provide force... like lets say a drath vadercard could himself provide 4 force. and there will be no dark side deck or light side deck even though i loved that from decipher.. the ide of universal gameplay would also include deck construction.( darth vader fighting alongside luke skywalker or the dark lord fighting alongside yoda. hahah tht would be awesome.) but yea..

That last one is the magic echo template.  Not sure you should really piggyback on a magic template...

My problem with the card is that is Darth Nihilus, not Darth Revan. Revan had a Manalorean helmet on, not that weird white mask.

First and second look more original. And as said, the last one is a magic template. Don't use them for yer own game.

mhm yes indeed it is... thats why i provided another choice.. i juss provided it so u could get an idea.. i have like.. 200 cards made in the echo template ready for copy and paste into my template.. or a template that can be made to fit a good looking game..
