I created this from the idea of making the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG into a tabletop adventure game but using dice instead of a board for random events.  I have more information here http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/User:MrVariant/YugiohGameMaster.  I'll summarize.  Essentially, you have a game master (GM) and a player who use 2 different sets of cards.  The board wipe will generally be the whole field, but certain things will privilege the player (such as having Dark Hole and Monster Reborn compared to the GM's Torrential Tribute and Call of the Haunted), but others will benefit the GM (stronger traps, especially counter traps).

Equips will be done in a treasure deck, needing the player to roll a die to open a chest, who will randomly open up an equip or trap that explodes in their face.  Class changes (changing Lord of D. to King Dragun) and random battles (like with monster gate but not tributing) will also happen.  The game has a leader on both sides that represents the player or GM, and will have themed cards (using Elemental Hero Bubbleman is a lot of fun, plus leaders can revive themselves every turn for 500 life points) and an extra deck to make situational cards (like Archlord Zerato) playable.  Lastly, there is a rule for 20 card decks featuring restricted cards with some exceptions (generally cards that can get themselves like Thunder Dragon)

The gm's advantages are primarily being able to draw during either player's turn or set a monster/traps or play spells in either's standby phase, where the player rolls a die.  It sounds a lot more powerful than it is given the player will have better quality draws in general thanks to cards like Pot of Greed as well as class changing (even through tributing a monster such as Magician's Valkyria for Dark Magician Girl which will be in the extra deck).  The player will also go 1st and can attack on the 1st turn.

I mention class changing a lot because the goal is for the game to symbolize a kind of story and have a script, to make a lot of cards more playable.  If anyone wants to try it out just e-mail/im me on yahoo.  I'd be happy to explain things for someone and even get ideas for scenarios that the GM and player would duel for.

I'll even make a direct link to the card pool: (YGM is game master and YGP is player) https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Ah4YzxxrOSQFdGJkYXFjaEdvREtRV2lfTGYwaTAyakE&hl=en#
